Amsterdam, NL / Thomas County, GA – July 9th, 2025 – Perpetual Next USA Inc. (“Perpetual Next”) has signed an exclusive option agreement with Woodlands Alternative Fuels, Inc. to purchase a 29 hectares site in Thomas County, Georgia. The site will host Perpetual Next’s first U.S. production hub for sustainable biomethanol, a low-carbon drop-in fuel made from forestry and wood-processing residues.
Scheduled to be built on the plot are two process blocks. The first one is a carbonization plant developed to convert woody residues and other organic waste streams into biocarbon. The residues are sourced from abundant woody residues in Georgia, Florida and Alabama, supporting sustainable waste management. The biocarbon produced is used as a feedstock for further processing in an adjacent plant where it is gasified to produce syngas and subsequently converted into biomethanol. Perpetual Next’s future production site will have a total production capacity of 220.000 tons of biomethanol per year, which is enough to displace over 400.000 tons of fossil CO₂ in shipping and chemicals.

Building the Perpetual Next facility will create around 150 construction jobs, generate more than 150 permanent direct and indirect positions, and inject several million dollars into the regional timber economy.

Biocommodity blueprints
Perpetual Next is advancing a portfolio of five production sites worldwide, each built on a single, standardised blueprint for large-scale biomethanol production, with proven industrial technology. The template allows rapid, serial replication at commercial scale. Earlier this year, the company secured two Dutch sites—Groningen and Moerdijk—for new biomethanol facilities.
